Das Heads

The German music magazine Musikexpress is working on a story about Talking Heads. It will feature the book What The Songs Look Like: Contemporary Artists Interpret Talking Heads Songs, and include my portrait of David Byrne.

The book was my brainchild and I got to collaborate with my very favorite band. I was able to obtain work from many incredible artists including: Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Byrne, Sue Coe, Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Duane Michals, Jim Nutt, Nam June Paik, Gary Panter, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Ruscha, William Wegman, Tadanori Yokoo and others.

500 Dogs

Hard to believe but Dogs Waiting for Their Humans will soon be posting my 500th photo. Sneak a peek at number 500 here.

Below is my original project statement:

“I don’t take that many photographs. The fact that this series even exists is still a surprise to me. The pictures were taken in and around my Brooklyn neighborhood beginning in the spring of 2007. I had started to notice dogs waiting for their owners to come out of coffee shops and delis. I also noticed how individually each dog was responding to this brief separation. I felt compelled to document this contemporary urban phenomenon.”

Thank yous go out to Fred Seibert, Carrie Miller and the Frederator interns for your support over the years.
