Lost in Translation

Special collector's limited edition package designed for the 10,000 Maniacs MTV Unplugged CD (1993). Manufactured in Nepal with handmade and handprinted paper in conjunction with The Body Shop's Trade-Not-Aid Program. I recall being told that the band name and album title when translated into Nepali became something like: "A lot of crazy people. Wooden music." (Always thought Wooden Music would make a wonderful album title.)

Hey Frank, I was the person at The Body Shop who worked with you on this project in 1993. I remember really clearly that we met for the first time with Natalie backstage in a tent at a gig somewhere outside in New York - probably the park. I still have a framed disc that Lisa Frank from Electra gave me when the project was done. It was a small thing, but something I was incredibly proud to have done - was a huge fan of 10,000 Maniacs then (still am). Am living in London now, working (on Sunday...) listening to Candy Everybody Wants. Hope all is well with you. Martyn Evans
PS - do you know anything about Lisa Frank's whereabouts - i would love to talk to her again.
